In plant, cell division occur in meristemic tissue at root tip and shoot apex. Enlargement caused by osmotic uptake of water. So, it resulting in increased turgidity or expansion or dilation of elastic wall. In the initial stage, enlargement occurs in all direction .Thus, enlargement confined a specific derection

An increasing in size, amount , or volume, usually as a result of an increase in number of cell. Growth of an organism may stop at maturity, as in the case of humans and other mammals, or it may continue throughout life, as in many plants.
